The CLLB (Cs2LiLaBr6:Ce) crystal stands out as a neutron detection scintillator with exceptional performance, characterized by high density (4.2 g/cm³), extremely high neutron light yield (>180,000 neutron/MeV), high energy resolution (3-4%), excellent neutron/gamma discrimination capability (FOM: 1.5-2), high neutron absorption efficiency (85%), and good temperature stability of scintillation performance. It is to date the inorganic scintillation crystal that simultaneously possesses high light yields for both neutrons and gamma rays. Given CLLB crystal's extraordinarily high light yields for both neutrons and gamma rays, it is considered the most suitable material for compact neutron detection applications.
