The MPC-32 multi-pixel photon counting module is capable of directly converting a continuous X-ray spectrum into digital signals across up to five energy regions. By setting electronic thresholds, it can filter out low-energy noise, reducing the impact of noise on image quality. Compared to traditional "pseudo dual-energy" techniques, the multi-energy region capability allows for simultaneous reading of up to five energy regions without overlap in the imaging, providing better differentiation and improving material identification accuracy.
